 What is The MANGAVERSE?
This is a bureau (not as business like as it sounds) operating in
association with the National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F or NFFF, a science fiction and fantasy club founded in 1941), and I am the Bureau Head and Official Editor.
What is it all about?
This bureau is for the manga/anime/comic lover.
Manga is the Japanese word for comics. Anime and manga are our main focus, though we also
deal with American (and other) comics. I am a fan of all three, but you don’t have to be to
participate! Often manga become anime and anime become manga. Much like how nowadays American
comics are becoming live action films. To simplify things non-Japanese comics will be refered
to as comics or other comics.
What do you do?
I put out a annual/semi-annual fanzine (however if you can't wait that long I do post topic related stuff on my main site over at Ruthiechan.net), called
The MANGAVERSE, which contains art, fan art, comics (original one shot), discussions
of your favorite anime/manga/comics (story lines, characters, writers, artists, etc.), con-reports,
con-announcements, flash fan fiction (about 1000 words), Letters of Comment (LoC's) - which ANYONE can submit, reviews, and more. Basically whatever you and I put into it!
Right now there isn't a real deadline for submissions.
What happened to the Fanzine of Doom?
There was a lack of interest to have a fanzine devoted to fan
fiction and fan art. One shouldn't be too suprised by this since there's alot of free webspace out there for people
to put up their fan fiction/art with an actual zine.
Do you offer an online version of your publications?
The MANGAVERSE is primarily in .PDF format and emailed to your VALID email address.
Hard copies are available upon request. If you wish to receive hard copies then it will cost $4 per ish, which doesn't quite cover printing and shipping. Anyone can be on my mailing list.
Great! How do I participate?
The biggest stipulation on participation
is that you must be a member of N3F to participate, EXCEPT for Letters of Comment! Anyone can submit those. Sometimes I'll have guest writers or guest artists as well.
Don't be afraid to
send in submissions. I find it highly unlikely that I'd reject what you send in. Just remember that we're concentrating on the sci-fi/fantasy aspect of these genres.
The only thing I ask is that NO hentai (pornographic) material be sent in. If you're not sure if something is hentai just ask me!
